Rebecca Grace Jones was born into a family of artists where creativity was nurtured and encouraged. She wrote and illustrated her first book of poetry in the second grade.
Following her interest in the combination of word and image, Rebecca spent the first two decades of her professional career as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer. When computers took over the industry, she made the switch to fine craft. Her new body of work “Words and Weavings” is composed of collages and words. Her charming shadow boxes contain a print of an original painting with an open window showing a hand-lettered word or phrase. Most have added details to go with the image, either a found or created object.
