CARLA CARUSO was born in New York City. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1987 with a BFA in glass sculpture, Carla moved to the hilltowns of western Massachusetts where she lived in a hippie-esque community, sometimes in a teepee.
After spending a few years back in New York City, Carla moved back to western Massachusetts, where she founded Carla Caruso Jewelry in 2001. She works in a studio above her garage, accompanied by her faithful pooch Lola, making each and every piece by hand.
Christina Ricci, Jodie Foster, Christy Turlington and even Mary Tyler Moore are wearing Carla's jewelry. It's been spotted on Julianna Margulies in The Good Wife and Catherine Zeta Jones in No Reservations. Her collection has evolved over the years but the essence remains the same: handmade jewelry that wears beautifully.
