Heart of the Home first opened its doors on April Fool's Day in 1994. Mother-daughter team Phyllis and Catalina Castells conceived of a store where you could see fine and unique crafts in a setting reminiscent of your own home. A store where customer service would be the main focus. Where every person who walked through the door would be greeted with an invitation to touch things and enjoy yourself.

We've grown a lot since the first little store on Mechanic Street, and there are a few more people working here now, but our focus on making your shopping experience a unique and wonderful one you'll want to experience again and again hasn't wavered.

Our wonderful location in the New Hope Flood House has allowed us to expand our offerings to include more craftspeople's work. And our expansion into the next-door storefront with Hearts Afire has enabled us to offer you an incredible selection of jewelry. In the summer of 2005, we plan to expand our collection of hand-made wearables and accessories by transforming our second floor space into a ladies' boutique (with a great room for the gents, too!). We've already relocated our collection of candles upstairs. Don't miss the changes.
